"American Idol" judges  -- and rivals  --  Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj are leaving the show. Both artists separately announced plans to exit the Fox talent competition Thursday, after just one season.

Carey and Minaj's run on "Idol" was marked by their very public feud, which came to light during "Idol's" audition process last year.  The two continued to joust each other throughout the season while judging contestants.

Their departures follow earlier reports hinting of "Idol's" plans to install new judges for the show's 13th season, though the fate of country singer Keith Urban, who also joined the panel last season, is still unknown.  Original "Idol" judge Randy Jackson announced he was leaving the show on its 12th season finale a few weeks ago.
